You've got a good starting point. I'd suggest looking into Overclocked, another game with midair-punch-based platforming. Some easy changes would be to lower the momentum on moving and turning, and to maybe replace the punch-timer with simply falling faster the longer you remain midair, since it's pretty hard to see the timer from so far away, and I often found myself waiting too long because of it

Duly noted!

Not only was there a road trip, but it was, in fact, infinite. Runs like ass on Google's dumpster-fire browser. Not much to do, maybe add drifting, or some hovering civilians to ram

"hovering civilians to ram"

That's odd; I have the sudden urge to start hurting other people

Spent time playing this game that I could've spent inking my splat zone to the Daily 1st. Would recommend

Alright.
I like how short the experience is. Gives the implied story and art (both good) more room to breathe. Additionally, it was almost immediately clear to me what I had to do (which I see here wasn't the case for many people). The trouble I DID have is with the execution; I got the idea in my head that I had to keep pressing against Big John in order to goad him into hitting me. As it turned out, my being so close to him actually made it impossible for me to parry his punches. After keeping my distance during the fight (something it was not implied I should do) , I found it perfectly manageable.

I do love a good slide-picture puzzle! Shifting the tiles along, knowing damn well I couldn't solve a Rubix Cube at gunpoint, haphazardly squinting as I make one right move and three wrong, repeating the cycle forever until that jolly 8-bit tune begs the question "How in Hell did that Work?"

"Gimmie a *drink*, barr-tendur"

Pristine. Short enough and pretty enough to hold my attention to the end, and the sounds don't feel repetitive either. You made excellent use of the limited buttons, and mechanics like Punch helped keep things interesting. Shooting the Sheriff dead was worth every second. Also, I second everything Wendigo said.

There is a very special moment in late-game in which the AI, being left to it's own devices, will form a massive wall of meat and murderous intent. At this point, all that's left for the player is to dodge bullets, while the glorious fleshy barrier tears through wave after wave of helpless enemy.
This is the best part of the game.

An impressive union between fun movement, straightforward combat, and engaging roguelike mechanics. The music is catchy, the aesthetic is simple, yet dashing, and the whole thing tickles a far-off memory of the glorious days of Death v Monstars. Nicely made
